Kiwi Crate Projects for Preschoolers

What mother has not wished she had more creative ideas and materials to offer her children when they say, "Mom, I'm bored"; or when all they want to do is watch TV.

Jill Englebright Fox, Ph.D., and Stacey Berry, M.Ed., who write for EarlyChildhoodNews.com, say that when young children complete artwork, they have a feeling of accomplishment and an understanding of the use of the supplies.

Another benefit of art activies for preschoolers is the development of fine-motor skills. When young children manipulate scissors, playdoe, and other mediums the small muscles in the hand are being used that will later be needed for writing and other more precise tasks.

Sensory skills can also be developed with art exploration. As children handle pattern shapes like triangles, squares, and rectangles, they are building a foundation for later math skills.
But how can the busy mom provide these quality art activities for her young child?

Well, there is hope and a store available that does just that.

Scrapbooking Made Easy

I started scrapbooking about 10 years ago. I love it but I often get bogged down and accomplish very little. It is frustrating to have all my materials out, strewn everywhere for so long, because it seems to take me forever to get many pages done.

But thankfully I have found the answer. A quick approach to scrapbooking without sacrificing the quality of my pages.

Professional Scrapbook Author And Designer Lain Ehmann Will Inspire You To Scrapbook Fast. Create Eye-catching, Meaningful Pages Quickly And Easily, In Minutes. Document Your Family's Stories And Scrapbook Your Photos -- And Have Fun Doing It! Take a look at A Layout a Day for lots of creative ideas and easy projects.

This approach to scrapbooking is an answer to my problem of long drawn out hours without much to show for it.

If you love scrapbooking like I do, you really need this.
One customer had this to say:
I’ve rediscovered my love for scrapbooking. I’ve learned to let go and not stress over finding the perfect patterned paper, lettering or embellishments. I’ve wasted so much time in the past selecting product that by the time I get to actually putting the page together, I’m no longer inspired. (Susan)

I like the part of her webpage that really makes it quick. Check out Fast Scrapbooking for explicit directions for speeding it up.

Positive Discipline

Parents if you have a toddler or preschooler you want to read this.

As a long-ago mother, a grandmother and a retired teacher of elementary children, I read a lot about behavior of young children. I always wished there was a required course that young parents could take to help them learn how to manage the behavior of their young ones.

I've seen parents struggling with this where they went from one extreme to another. Some parents were too harsh and strict, others were too lenient and permissive. There is a middle ground of positive parenting that most young parents have trouble finding.

The big question is, "How can I get my young child to behave without threatening and punishment, and without fights and fusses."

Well help is here! This young father developed a great technique of using positive discipline with young children.  He calls it "Talking to Toddlers", but it is applicable to preschool children ages 2-6 and beyond.

You need to read more of these great parenting tips!

What amazes me is that the price is so reasonable - on $37.  As an educator, I have seen behavior management programs that were not nearly as good as this one, for $200 and up.
Be sure to check it out by clicking below. You will be glad you did.

Two parenting tips taught in lesson 1 are:
1. Double Bind:  This simply put is redirecting your toddler with two choices.
Example: "Mary, do you want to put your pajamas on yourself or do you need me to help you?"
2. Presupposition:   statements (or questions) that assume something is true. Example:   "When you do your homework, make sure to use a pencil and not a crayon" is a statement that presupposes you will do your homework. This is a powerful language tool to break past resistance.
These 2 techniques can be combined very effectively.
Example:  "Mary, after your bath, do you want to put your pajamas on yourself or do you need me to help you?"
Your are presupposing that she will take a bath and then giving her 2 choices for afterwards.

Reading for Young Children/ Toddlers

Do you have a toddler of preschooler that you would like to teach to read at home before they start to school?

Well I just discovered a great program that will enable you to do just that. As a retired elementary school teacher, I can tell you this is a very good program.

My friend's daughter is in third grade and struggles with reading. They have worked with her for a year and a half intensely, daily to help her learn to read. She is making progress but not near as much as they wish she were. If only they had known about this program when she was very young, she wouldn't be struggling now.

Don't make the same mistake they did. Take an active roll in teaching your child to read ahead of time so he/she will love reading and have an easy time of it in school.

I am amazed at how low the price is - only $49.95. I think it's a great deal and a great thing to do for your child. Just check out the videos for yourself. You will be amazed also.

Babaco

This site makes me wish I were young again and my children were too. This is a dream come true for busy moms who want to provide activities for their young children from 3-7 years of age.

This company has made up prepackaged boxes for teaching and entertainment. You sign up for 3 mo., 6 months, or 12 mo. and they will send your child a box each month filled with all sorts of fun and creative activities.

The example they give is on "Gratitude".
What young child doesn't need to learn about being grateful? Most children at this age still see the world as revolving around them. These fun activities teach them to be grateful while having fun.

The Land of Nod

One of the first cute sites I found is called "The Land of Nod".  Even the title is cute!  They have so many attractive and unusual things for kids.

I really loved the bookbags and lunch sacks. The bookbags have animal faces designed into the bags. The lunch sacks have such original and child appealing prints.

They also have unusual toys like felt art for creative minds and colored print paper airplanes that are very easy for children to make.

Their furniture for children is well made and beautiful.

Their bedding like crib sheets offer such a variety and such cute patterns that I couldn't quit looking through them. They even carry the hard-to-find bassinet fitted sheet.

My granddaughter loved looking at the girls' bedding. She kept saying, "I want that one! I want that one!"  Again I couldn't get over the variety and creativity - even one with the solar system.

Even the storage containers and wall hooks are created with quality decor in mind, from canvas shelf bins to theme related colored steel wall hooks.

Their speciality decor items from USA rugs to wall decor to a farris wheel night light are so appealing. I wish I had this available when my children were little. At least now I can spoil my grandkids.

Once you start look through the wonderful things on this site you will find it hard to stop.

Their prices are not as low as a discount store but they are reasonably priced.

The best part is the variety and creativity put into so many items clustered together in one site.

Click below to go to their store and see for yourself what wonderful products they have.
